Dermatology (from the greek derma, skin) is the branch of medicine that deals with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases that can affect the skin and related tissue (hair and hair, nails, sweat glands etc).. A doctor who specializes in dermatology is a dermatologist. Dermatologists are physicians specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and tumors of the skin and its appendages. The skin is the largest organ of the body and obviously the most visible. Regard to the latter takes great interest in the treatment and diagnosis of moles or nevi.

The “moles”or “nevi”of the skin, from the standpoint of biological formations in different forms and usually dark color, projecting to the skin may be acquired or congenital. Normally the are harmless, but check them regularly and know them is essential in the prevention and timely treatment of a very serious form of malignant tumor: melanoma. If in checking your moles were some imperfections, it is good to consult a dermatologist, who can be monitored with more attention and skill, in suspicion. The dermatologist will be able to formulate a more precise diagnosis and accurate, thanks to ‘help of computer dermoscopy.
The dermoscopy is a new technique to improve the diagnosis of pigmented lesions of the skin and detect melanoma at an early stage as early as possible. This method, though used by expert dermatologists, may aid in the diagnosis of pigmented skin tumors, because you can not only diagnose about 20% of melanoma more than the clinical examination alone, but also to avoid many unnecessary surgical removal of benign nevi. The dermatologist nevi map indicating their location on a design that mimics the body or taking pictures of the various parts of the body, storing photos on a computer to compare them at a later time.
